We are a nonprofit built by and for young adults facing cancer. Rooted in creativity, connection, and community-we believe every broken piece has a place.

Who We Are

We exist to support those who find themselves in the in-between—too old for pediatric care, too young for typical cancer support spaces, and often too overwhelmed to know where to turn.

Our mission is to empower young adults affected by cancer through community, creativity, and the belief that healing begins when we embrace every piece of who we are—even the ones that feel broken.

We offer resources, care packages, storytelling platforms, and spaces of connection that reflect the realities of being young and sick. Our programs are designed to meet people where they are—whether they’re in active treatment, remission, survivorship, or supporting someone they love.

We believe in the power of lived experience. That’s why everything we do—from our curated care packages to the stories we amplify—is rooted in authenticity and guided by voices from within the young adult cancer community.

Through art, conversation, and community, we’re piecing together something stronger. Something real. A mosaic of strength, vulnerability, pain, hope, and fierce beauty.

Because no one should have to go through this alone.
And because broken doesn't mean the end.
It means beginning again—together.

Our Founder

I started The Mosaic Project after facing a rare blood cancer diagnosis in my 20s and realizing how isolating it can be to be young and sick. I couldn’t find a space that felt made for people like me—so I created one. I have been through countless, tests, appointments, and procedures and I know how important the right resources and a good community at your side can be. I was broken, so i decided to make a community of our broken pieces. I hope the mosaic project makes the broken parts of you feel whole again.

With love,

Avery Foster
